Filthy Creations Out Now!
« Thread started on: Aug 28th, 2006, 09:24am »

The first issue of Filthy Creations is available for a giveaway 2.50 (inc. p&p) from:

Rog Pile
46 Trenoweth Estate
North Country
Redruth
Cornwall
TR16 4AH

Written and illustrated by Vault members, it includes original stories by Charles Black, Victoria Dixon, Steve Goodwin, Franklin Marsh and Roger Pile with a full colour cover design by Ade Salmon and illustrations by Chrissie Demant and Rog Pile. Michel Parry also pops up with a few choice comments. The editor prefers to remain anonymous but I'm going to say "well done, Steve" anyhow because he's done such a wonderful job of whipping everybody into shape and bossing Rog about. To all involved - you really have excelled yourself. Never has the phrase "Vault: Tomorrows Stars Today" seemed more appropriate.

Further details and much more besides at:

Filthy Creations at My Space.

Filthy Creations at Dreaming of Babylon.

Oops! Sorry, folks!

I forgot that to make amends for a delayed Birthday gift, I stuck Birthday greetings to my friend Cristina (aka Magnetic Mary) on both blogs.

I'll go and repost the Filthy Creations page now!

Thanks, Dem'.

I don't know the method and madness of these spammy bastards but there are two threads on here that have attracted them more than most. Curt's Calling London was targeted for days and now its this one's turn. I've cleaned off four fucking messages from here in the last 24 hours - the usual garbage - and it seems we've also copped us some new friends promoting on-line poker and porn. I really do not want to have to lock this board to guests because we've had some great posts from people who've been just passing through but its getting to be an almighty drag.

But it might be heading that way.

But it might be heading that way. >>

I noticed another incursion today - I guess it was another carry on screaming moment. I don't see that you'll have any choice but to make it register and read only soon - just like a majority of Yahoo groups actually. If browsers are interested they will join and spammers will have to take their grafitti elsewhere.

My tuppence worth Dem.

And I appreciate it, ade. I already wiped out one of this jerk's posts earlier.

It wouldn't take long to lock it, but as a rule I detest the kind of board that makes you join if you want to post (or even just read what's going on): Usually they end up with 2 billion members of whom about three ever bother to contribute so I can't see the point of it either.

Can anybody perform some effective black sorcery routines on the sad fucker?

I don't have a problem with locked groups myself - hence why I run one that way. It certainly eradicates spam and overall idiots too! I used to keep Bloody Hell open ( when it had about 90 members) - but the new streamlined version is alot less work because I approve everyone who applies to join! Elitist maybe but it suits me.

Yeah, I tried The Bloody Hell of British Art link ages back, and found it was dead - an expired group named VisualAde, so it must have been yours! The name didn't 'click' at the time, Ade.

Spam: it's infuriating, but reminding myself that it's not actually mailed by human agency helps a little - just a little, I find.

The blogs use word-recognition to foil them; but I think that would take away the spontaneity of posting to this board. Sorry, Dem'. Guess it's up to you, as always, unless others come forward with a vote?

Like the subject line says, I'll need your addresses for FC. You can send them by PM or by haunteddollshouse@yahoo.co.uk.

I seem to remember this happened last year, too...

Please ignore the older posts higher up. FC is free to contributors, and other complimentary issues will be going out, too.

I'd liked to pay for it really. Not that I'm rich, far from it but I haven't contributed anything except a poem and other people are sticking money in. I wonder if my mum would like a copy - I'd better check it out first. I read her a few of my horror stories when i was a youth and she remained non committal while turning slightly green.

My apologies to all concerned for my delay. One of the problems about the workshop being members only is that, unless people are able to log-in every day, they sometimes miss stuff like the post I made Thursday about my printer breaking down - here.

And if you're not logged-in now, that link will only have sent you to an error message...

Further apologies for my disgraceful language on Thursday; but it was a huge annoyance. I spent Thursday and Friday looking at printers... and at the state of my bank balance and bills due. Today EDF electric said they'd put a hold on my latest bill. Yesterday I phoned DK Computing in Camborne to find out if affordable compatible cartridges would be available for the latest Epson - and I'm happy to say there are. So I think that'll be the one I get Monday.

I'm going to leave it till Monday as (a) I have visitors tonight, and (b) I want to just check the faint possibility of new HP Deskjets also having affordable compatible cartridges. (Printers are cheap these days; it's the cost of ink I need to think about).

As soon as I get the printer, then I'll be getting the 'zine out. And you want me to sign it? Sheesh, Craig, you have more published than I do!

All best,

Rog'
